Director of Brand Marketing – Irvine, CA

The Director of Brand Marketing will work in our Retail Toy Division collaborating with cross-functional experts driving brand strategy, growing brand equity and market share. The role works closely with Product Design, Operations and Ecommerce to execute/launch new categories and product lines. Our Retail Toy Division is called Luki Lab – a direct to consumer (DTC) arm of Strottman International, designing proprietary toy brands in a variety of categories.

Duties:

  • Directs and executes marketing activities for all brands including (but not limited to): strategy for online marketing, integrated marketing planning, brand planning, digital and social content strategy and execution, media planning, licensing, promotions, advertising, packaging, branding, public relations, trade shows, market research, pricing, costing, forecasting, POS analysis, profitability analysis, and SKU rationalization
  • Manages outside agency teams in PR, Social Media, Media buying, Online advertising
  • Works closely and in sync with the Director of E-commerce -supporting and analyzing online sales from Amazon, LukiLab.com and other online retailers
  • Manages brand positioning, age target, key attributes and ensures product, packaging, marketing communication, licensing and retail deliver on insights-based alignment and flawless execution
  • Manages the brand planning process – slot planning, white space opportunity analysis, product wave planning, price point analysis, and Amazon competitive data analysis
  • Helps leads cross-functional teams and manages projects related to product development activities including (but not limited to): Translating consumer and business insights into strategic, clear marketing/product briefs, preparing new product start documents, product costing, and packaging
  • Educates team on brand information and background that allow them to help create and execute programs that will drive consumer demand. Acts as the brand voice, serving as reviewer and approver of assets and content across platforms
  • Analyzes sales and industry data and report on financial performance of assigned product lines to determine trends and key performance indicators and business drivers. Research and report on industry, consumer and competitive trends to guide long and short-term growth plans across all branded categories
  • Develops, manages and monitors marketing budgets including inventory, forecasts etc. and understand implications to marketing investment, ROI and key activations
  • Craft and present compelling presentations regarding new campaigns, strategies and/or research findings to internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the brand as the authority
  • Takes a hands-on approach in product development with the creation of creative brief but also ideation and on-going development
  • Acts as the brand voice, serving as reviewer and approver of assets and content across platforms; the voice of the consumer internally
  • Analyzes sales and industry data and report on financial performance of assigned product lines to determine trends and key performance indicators and business drivers. Research and report on industry, consumer, and competitive trends to guide long and short-term growth plans across all branded categories
  • Manages relationships with our international distributors
  • Makes strategic growth recommendations through analyzing related categories and proposing line expansion opportunities for future development

COVID-19 Working Conditions:

This position will work in a hybrid, flexible work arrangement.  This role will start working remote and come into the office as needed with more regular days/times starting in Fall 2021.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Marketing or related discipline, and 8 – 10 years of Brand Management/Marketing experience; MBA a plus
  • Toy marketing experience required. Candidates with NO Toy Experience will NOT be considered
  • Online marketing experience and product launch experience required
  • Excellent storyteller/communicator and ability to write inspiring presentations
  • Experience analyzing data and managing financials
  • Highly organized, independent and detail oriented with strong follow up skills
  • Strong time management, planning and project execution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build solid collaborative relationships
  • Strong PowerPoint creation and presentation skills, proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel

Senior Designer – Atlanta, GA

The Senior Designer is a hands-on position responsible for all aspects of delivering contemporary and compelling POP signage and collateral with clear consumer facing communication.

Duties:

Reporting to the Creative Director, you will impact bottom-line results by brainstorming innovative ideas, designing new toy promotions and paper based premium products and packaging – taking your ideas from preliminary design concepts and presentation materials through final printed product and collateral. Aside from hands-on work, you will also direct freelance talent in the development, preparation, design and execution of the art elements of any assigned project to deliver projects to required quality levels and budget.

This position works collaboratively with all departments in a client-team environment including Creative/Product Design, Engineering, and Account Service.

Qualifications:

  • A natural enthusiasm for great work
    • Bachelors in Design or equivalent, and 3-5 years’ experience designing and directing all aspects of the creative project lifecycle including traditional print; Knowledge of printing process Highly preferred
    • Page Layout skills and good color sense a must
    • Ability to work with a client style guide preferred
    • Capability to innovate and design independently as well as brainstorming with a team
    • Sketching/Illustration skills highly preferred
    • Ability to present work internally or externally to client
    • Positive, can-do attitude and effective team-player; must have a good attitude with revisions and feedback
    • Consumer of pop culture and everything kids!
    • History of working with a product development team
    • Ability to work quickly and manage multiple projects at once, while keeping strict deadlines
    • Experience managing freelance resources and budget
    • Must be proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Presentation Programs
    • Portfolio must show good Graphic design layout and hands-on production skills
